Helping YOU to fulfill your destiny

Lesson 38

I want to welcome you back to Month 10 and Week 2.

We’ll continue with the names of God because they… I can’t overemphasize how important it is to find God for ourselves in situations. It’s not easy, I’m finding it just as difficult as I’m… So this week I’m preaching to myself as also to you. I need to find God, I need to know that He is Jehovah Shammaah the Lord who is there, the Lord who is always present.

Now, the bible is very very clear about this it says, “I am the Lord, I am in the present.” He is everywhere present but there’s a different between His being on the present in one sense and being present in my life. I need to feel that presence, I need to recognize in all the strives and stresses of life, the difficulties and the problems that really are not created by ourselves but they are created by other people for us. They are created in situations for us, they just arise during the course of life.

We have to know that the Lord is there, not only is He just present but He’s rightly interested in the outcome on behalf of His Children. But without the exercise of Faith, it’s impossible to please God. So I have to come back to the place time and time and time again where I  make myself believe, I  make myself trust in the names of God that He is the Lord and He is present. He is there, He is there for me. The bible talks about when you’re brought before Kings and rulers and Judges. Recognize that God will be there, take no thought what you should say. The Lord is there. If you’ve had a death in the family for instance, recognize that the Lord is there and the Holy Spirit is the comforter.

If you are trying to pray for somebody to get them healed and it’s not working, they’re not responding, that thing is happening in their body or in yours then you can lay back as it were  into rest, because they know their God shall not strive. Striving doesn’t really do anything for us, we have to rest back in God and know that He is there, He is there for us.

The wonderful thing is Jesus is our Savior, He saves us from ourselves. Quite infrequently shall I say, we get into situations that we create that are really not good. We overspend, we do something, we do something silly for instance and this is where we need God. But we need to understand that His name and His nature is that He loves us, that He’s passionate about us and He says, “I’m watching over you.” Jesus said it so wonderfully. He said that, “Take no thought for tomorrow, what you shall need or what you shall wear.” The two basic needs that everybody has in life. He said, “Take no thought or worry  for these needs, because your Father knows what you have need of even before you ask.”

Everyone of our hairs on our heads such as we have remaining number the Lord says. He wants to develop that intimacy with us, He wants to prepare us as troops but He wants to prepare us as sons and daughters. He wants us to come to maturity and come into our inheritance. Just remember the next time that you’re in a problem, the Lord Jehovah Shammah is your God and He is the Lord that is there. He’s there for you in every situation and He’s so big that He can remain invisible. This is the difference between the God of this world and the God that we serve. Our God is so big that He doesn’t need to put on a big demonstration. He can be invisible and still be there for us, whereas the God of this world, the devil, he tries to create huge pictures in our mind. He tries to create huge circumstances that go against us. But we have to learn and we have to recognize that we do not serve this God. We are in the world but we’re not of it.

Now are we the sons of God and it doesn’t appear what we shall be, the bible says. So Jehovah Shammah the Lord is there. I must remember in all circumstances that He is there for me and you must remember that He’s there for you too.

Please write in the forum experiences where you suddenly recognize, you suddenly become aware even though you’ve been worrying, even though you’ve been anxious, even though you’ve been panicking. That you suddenly become aware that Jehovah Shammah, the Lord is there for you and calm has come, peace has come, tranquility has come and the answer has come because God cannot deny himself.

This is His name, this is His nature, this is His character. He’s promised this is stead fast, He said, “I will be there for you.”

Write in the forum your experiences so that we can share altogether as a company or students and we can grow and we can become a force of healing throughout the world. May God bless you as you find your destiny. Thank you.

Helping YOU to fulfill your destiny

Lesson 37

I want to welcome you today to Month 10 and week 1.

In this week we are going to continue trying to understand and glean secrets from the names of God in the Old Testament in the Bible.

This particular week, I want to concentrate on Jehovah Nissi. It’s only mentioned once in the Scripture but it’s “The Lord my banner or the Lord my miracle.” Now, if we’re going to get involved in healing we expect God to do miracles for others but we have to come to a place where we can take God for ourselves and expect miracles from God.

What is a miracle? It’s something against all odds, it’s something that is contrary to the Laws of Nature, it’s something linked into the very character of God. Jehovah Nissi means, “The Lord, my banner.” The best way to probably describe this is if you remember seeing the old war movies of a hundred years ago or more, they always have the flag out in front. It was a rallying point for the troops and as long as that flag was high and that flag was in their mind, they were motivated very strongly towards the war and committed to winning that war.

The Lord is our banner, He wants us to see in times of anxiety, in times of testing, in times of real trouble that He is the Lord my banner, that flag is flying on my behalf. If I keep looking at that then who can come against me if the Lord is for me. I have to keep my eyes fixed on the Lord rather like in healing you have to keep your eyes fixed on Jehovah Rapha. In battle, in fights, in disputes, in trouble, you keep your eye on Jehovah Nissi, the Lord your banner.

It’s so easy to get involved in the problems. Right now, I personally am going through a lot of family issues with private issues inside the family. It’s a very difficult time, it’s a stressful time, it’s a time of work, hard work. That’s why I haven’t been too much on the website, regrettably. I’m hoping that would change very soon. But as we come into the final battle, you really have to keep your eyes on the Lord and say, “Well, just like David, this is a problem that’s so big that I can’t miss.” This is not something so big that it intimidates me. I have to keep my eye on that flag. I have to keep my eye on Jehovah Nissi, the Lord my banner, the Lord my miracle. God wants to give us miracles. He’s a miracle working God, that is His nature and He wants to provide, He wants to give us the victory. He says, “We are more than conquerors.” That means He’s already won the battle, that He’s already decide that we are winners but we have to unite ourselves with Him. We have to join with him and in praying for the sick and in various tests that we might get in our own bodies. We have to believe that He is the Lord, my miracle, He is the Lord, my banner.

I want you to write in the forum, particularly take this very seriously. I want you to write in the forum that, how you have gone through some circumstance, whether it’s big or small. Is it relevant but you focus your eyes on the Lord. You’ve taken them off the difficulties, the enormity of the situation, the problem. You focus on the Lord, you worship Him, you kept your eye on that flag or that banner.

Helping YOU to fulfill your destiny

Lesson 36

I want to welcome you to Month 9 and week 4.

We’re still discussing, because it’s so important ,how to make God Jehovah Jireh your provider.

One of the aspects apart from giving us the desires of our hearts which we’ve already discussed and I hope you’ve been asking God to give you something that you really desire. Just to prove to yourself that God really loves you, that God provides for you, that God wants to give you the desire of your heart.

Also I believe God put in the Garden of Eden all the gold, all the silver, all the jewels for Adam and Eve to enjoy. Whilst I don’t totally hold with all the prosperity teaching that is in some aspects of America, sort of in excess. I do believe that God wants to supply all our needs. I do believe that God wants to provide for us. According to a father who is extremely wealthy, who wants to provide for his son or his grandsons, his family. I hope fathers are wise normally and they don’t give to their sons automatically everything that they ask for immediately. But I do believe that if a son says something like, “I’d really like one of those.” Then I do believe that earthly parents take that on  board and they plan for it. If it’s humanly possible, they try to give their children what they really desire. I believe God as a Heavenly Father is much much greater than that. But sometimes He test us, He says, “If you give, it shall be given unto you.” Pressed down, running together and overflowing. I know that people preach this hoping to get a big offering but it’s a principle in God that Jesus brought out that if you give, it shows that God has got a hand in your pocket. Therefore in a covenant relationship as we discussed earlier in covenant, then I have my hand in God’s pocket. Guess who’s got the biggest pocket?

Sometimes when God speaks to us, He does it in most inconvenient moments. It’s like the lady that put her might in and Jesus said, “She gave more than everybody else put together.” Why? Because it was all she had. When we were first starting, we were kind of poor as  church mice and really very poor. I joked with God after the first year of our full time service with Him that I can’t tithe because you kept 90% of my income. Basically that’s what happened, I went from having a very very good job, highly paid job as an Accountant and I went down to earning in the next year one tenth of my previous salary. God provided all that we needed. I would go and preach in a house and I would be given sack of potatoes and I would be given vegetables and I would be given bread and cakes and a little money but not much money in those days.

So God taught us that He could provide in various ways but He also challenged us. Just as I was about to leave Accountancy even though I didn’t know it, I heard from God to say to it very clearly, “Take your entire wage pocket this week and give it to an Evangelist so and so.” So I did it and I said to the Lord, “Lord, how are we going to manage? We have enough food but we have to buy food every week and we’ve got no money to buy any food.” We didn’t buy anymore food and God didn’t send us 10 times the amount of money that we gave to the Evangelist like in some testimonies. But what God did was He caused the food in our refrigerator to multiply or at least not decrease even though we are partaking of it, Eeating it every day for the next week because we had no money to buy any food. So through this small incident, God showed us that He can provide, He will provide.

Shortly afterwards I was called out by God, I had hands laid on me by the Church and I was set aside for the work of the Ministry. After 10 days, I was driving an Evangelist’s car back to my home in Chard and I ran out of gas, I ran out of petrol, I ran out of benzine depending on which country you’re from. The car wouldn’t go and it stops 70 miles, 100kms from home and I was stuck by the highway side, by the roadside and I panicked. I thought, “God what do I do now?” I’ve got no money, I got no credit cards that I can use, I don’t know where the nearest gas station is or service station is. What are we going to do? Then I had a thought, get out of the car and stand by the car which of course is very dangerous really. But stand by the car and see if anybody recognizes me as they drive pass then perhaps they will stop.

I did this for about 5 minutes and then God spoke to me and said, “Who do you think knows you?” I thought, “Well, that’s a very real question Lord.” Not many people know me. I haven’t been in the Ministry for a month, it was only like 8 to 10 days. The likelihood of people passing that you knew was very small. So God said, “Get in the car.” I got back in the car and I thought, “What happens now?” God spoke again and said, “Do you believe this car can go without fuel if I want it to?” I said, “Yes of course, if you want it to.” So He said, “Take your glove off.” It was a cold in England in March, April and I took my glove off and He said, “Put it across the dashboard of the car so you cannot see that you’ve got zero petrol.” So I put my glove across the dashboard and He said, “Start the car.” I thought, “This is crazy.” It has stopped, there’s no fuel.

But at your word Lord,  I will do it so I turn the key and it just went phut and that was it. So I turned the key a second time in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and I thought in the name of Jesus and I turn the key, nothing again. At that point I could almost hear the devil laughing, sitting on my shoulder saying, “You don’t think this car is going to start do you?” I said, “No, I didn’t until you spoke up. But you are a liar from the beginning so thank you for telling me and confirming that God is about to cause this car to start.” I said, “In the name of the Holy Spirit Lord, just make this car go.” Turn the key and the car roared into life. I drove 70 miles, 100km home, praising the Lord every step of the way.

I felt like I was pluggng into the fuel tank of the car in front and somehow God was filtering their fuel into my tank. I thought that if I stop praying, if I stop praising, the car might stop. So I spoke in tongues, sang in the spirit, sang in with my understanding.  I don’t sing well but I’ve made a joyful noise to the Lord for 70 miles. I got all the way home, I drove the car into the garage and closed the door and I went inside and I was grinning for my wife to  to hear, I have this testimony. God have provided 70 miles of fuel for me, He was the Lord my provider. This was so wonderful.

Then, a few days later, somebody sent us about 5 pounds about 6 or 7, 8 dollars. I went to the car and I laid hands on it and prayed over it and it would not start. Then God spoke and said, “You can go to the service station, it’s only half a mile down the road. You can walk and get some fuel and come back and put it in.” When I needed a miracle, it was there because God wants to show us all that Jehovah Jirah I am the Lord who provides for you. He provides for me and He provides for you. Now it’s not just money, it’s not just material things but it is material things that lead you to be able to receive spiritual things. If you’re praying for somebody and they’re very sick. Can you see the warehouse in Heaven that you can go to and get a new body part? Well, if God has done these things for you in your personal life and it makes it so much easier to believe God and to carry on in your spiritual life in your ministry. May God bless you this month

Helping YOU to fulfill your destiny

Lesson 35

I want to welcome you back to month nine and week three, and in this week three, we are going to a very, very controversial  topic in a way, it is to do with money. I believe the Lord says, “I am Jehovah Jireh, I am the Lord who provides”.

If you remember Abraham and Isaac, God asked Abraham to give up his only son. And then when he goes on to the mountains and was about to put a knife into Isaac, God speaks out of the heaven, and says, “I will provide myself a lamb”. Of course that was Jesus, and God has provided Jesus. And the Bible says how will He not with Him,  freely gives us all things.

He is the Lord who provides, He knows what’s in our hearts, He knows the desires of our hearts, and He says if it matters to you, it matters to me. Sometime ago, I put an impossible challenge to God, only God could possibly fulfil this challenge. If you do know me personally, those that are on the course, they know that I love the game of golf, and there’s nothing better than I  love to either play golf or try to play it, I’m not a good golfer by any means, but I am very enthusiastic and passionate about this sport. And if you are a golfer, you will understand the longing or the desire to attend the Augusta Masters Golf Tournament. Those tickets are priceless, you see them on eBay for 5 000 dollars for 1 day, 10 000 dollars for the final bid.

Always there are warnings that if you did not get this through legal means you can be rejected when you get to the gate and I don’t have 10 000 dollars and I don’t believe God wants to pay 10 000 dollars to go to the Master’s.

So I asked Him, “Lord, I would love to go to the Masters.” I began to share with others going around and one man said, “I think I can get you to get to the practice day.” The first time that I had the opportunity to go was about three years ago and I couldn’t go because there were no flights, there were no empty seats on any plane going in to Augusta at that time, everything is booked to Augusta years in advance, not just months in advance, or weeks in advance, but years in advance.

All the hotels are fully booked from year to year to year and there’s nothing you can do to find accommodation in Augusta, and you can’t even fly in there, it’s so kind of closed. I had to very much thank the person for the possibility but I couldn’t go. The next year I had a similar experience, somebody else said, “Oh, I can get you a ticket.” I already booked to go preaching and so I continued with the preaching engagement. I said quietly in my heart, “Lord, only You can do this, but I would love to go.”

A few weeks after saying this, I was speaking in a conference alongside a friend of mine called Bill Johnson. I turned to Bill, he was talking about how God wants to reward us. I was saying Bill, “that’s so much on my heart these days, thank you for sharing that and here’s how I want God to reward me.” I said, “I’ve set this challenge, I would love to go to the Augusta Masters Golf Tournament.” He said, “Well if it matters to you, it matters to Father.”

That really put something warm in my heart, that yes, God will do this, and He will do it for me, for little me, for even for me. And so God will do these things for you as well, so think like this, learn to think differently.

I was actually preaching sometime later in Georgia, and it was at the time of the Ryder Cup, the Golf Tournament between England and the United States. As I was staying in the home of a golfer, who was very keen, he wanted to watch the Ryder Cup.

Every time I came back from the meeting, I would sit in one big lazy boy chair and he would sit in the other and I would cheer for England and Europe and he would cheer for America. I happened to mention to him, “Have you ever been to the Masters? He said, “Oh yes, I’ve been, it’s really wonderful.” I said, “Oh, I’ve asked God that I can go one time to the Masters, I really would love to go.” He didn’t say anything, but he got out of his chair and he walked next door. He came back with a very tall, stately-looking man, who  said, “I hear you want to go to the Masters. I said, “Well, yes, this is the desire of my heart.” He said, “Consider it done, I am a member.”

I had to tell you that this April, I took, 2-3 days off from helping our son, and I went to the Augusta Masters, and I had the time of my life. It was the most wonderful experience. I can almost see God smiling down on me because he knew how much it meant to me. This is how much your desires mean to God. So if you desire to see somebody to get out of a wheelchair, if you desire somebody to get healed, if you desire to have your house payment paid off, whatever God puts in your heart to have as a desire, then He is the Lord, your provider, He will provide it for you.
