I want to welcome you back to month 9 and week 2.

I really hope you had some extensive study going on last week, where you looked up the names of God and you sorted out and prayed over, how you relate to them and how can you improve in relating to those names because this to me is the real key to power. It’s they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

Obviously, part of my job in this course is to train you to get to know God for yourself. So, because it is a healing mentoring course, let’s start with Jehovah Rapha, the Lord, your Healer, the Lord Healer. What does that mean to you, does that mean when you get sick, the first place you go is God? Or, does it mean the first place you go is to the medicine cabinet, to the painkillers, to the doctors, to the hospital?

Please don’t think that I’m against hospitals, doctors, painkillers, medicines, I’m not. But over the 45 years that I’ve been working with the Lord, He’s kind of forced me, trained me, cajoled me, encouraged me to trust Him first.

I have had several tests over the years. I remember once when I was in the United States. I was in the city of Minneapolis and I had a swelling come out, above my kidneys that reminded me of like gallstone, gallbladder and some kind of trouble like that. And I went to the Lord about it because I was hearing voices in my head as if were, the devil was speaking to me and saying, “Well you preach healing, this is probably cancer.” I said no, I’m not in the realm for cancer, but I’m in the realm for health, so take that away.” He then intimated to me that it might be kidney failure and I said, “No, the very first healing that I ever experienced was kidneys and I don’t think I’ve ever prayed for person with bad kidneys, that hasn’t been healed, so it’s not that.” Finally, I heard this little voice that said, “It’s a ruptured spleen.” Now don’t laugh, but I have no medical knowledge, so I didn’t know if it could be a ruptured spleen but somehow the devil got between my God and the name of God that I was trusting in. I kind of believed that this was it. It helps sometimes that you’re married to an ex-nurse. I called my wife in England and I said, “I think I got a ruptured spleen.” She just fell down, burst into laughter. Laughed and laughed and laughed  and I held on the telephone line and I said, “Well that wasn’t the reaction I expected, why?”

She said, “Well if you had that, you’d be dead, so I suggest that you just go to God and get healed.” Well, once you’ve given the devil a receipt for a sickness and then you have to get rid of it.

There’s a much easier way, don’t receive it in the first place. You say, “No, the Lord, my God is my healer, Jehovah Rapha is His name, He’s the Lord who heals, it’s His covenant name, He will always do that for me because He’s my covenant God and I’m in covenant partnership with Him.”

But this time I’ve given the devil a receipt for this sickness. So now, it is mine, and I have to get rid of it. I had the morning off and I switched to television on and there was a Christian program on it. Quite frankly I would normally switch off immediately. I couldn’t stand the program but I knew I was desperate. Everything the man said I drank in. This was true the second program that came on. It was all about faith and you can believe. It was kind of an old realm in the message but I took it all. At the end of that program after an hour, I kind of forgot that I have this swelling. I don’t know when God healed it but when I next felt for it, there was no pain, no pressure, and there was no swelling. So that was one instance where I was healed.

In the early days, I was very nervous when I was preaching and I was often subject to bowel problems and tremendous migraine headaches. I was driving along to go to a meeting and we had this big migraine come along as I was driving. I finally got to my destination with this pain across my head, my eyes were sore, I’m kind of blacking out. I was invited in to the house where we were staying and they cooked this Chinese food. Well the smell of the Chinese food plus my migraine made me run for the bathroom, made me run into the bathroom and I was very much on my knees but I wasn’t praying. And then suddenly I felt God said, “Praise me that I’m your healer.” Through the migraine, through the nausea and through the vomiting and everything else to do with that, I started to praise the Lord, that by your stripes I was healed, by your stripes, I was healed. Thank you Lord, you’re not a liar, thank you Lord you’re the truth. It is written that if I seek You, I will surely find you, and I found God.

Suddenly the migraine was lifted, and I was healed, and I didn’t take an aspirin, I didn’t take a Panadol, I didn’t take Tylenol, I didn’t take anything for it. And it lifted, and I enjoyed the Chinese meal. Well, for a long time, I wasn’t tested. I was preaching on healing so much, probably 300 plus days per year and I wasn’t tested. Well, the Bible says as you get older so is your strength be. But a few months ago, I somehow, I tripped or I fainted. I blacked out completely. I found myself when I came to sitting on a sofa, in my son’s home in Dallas. What my wife had done was to get a big pack of the frozen peas out of the freezer and put them in the back of my head to stop the bleeding and she said you fainted, you know what happened.

For a few minutes, I was so disoriented, I really didn’t know where I was or who I was. It was the weirdest feeling, all control had gone. I was just blank-minded and it was primal and strange.

When she told me I fainted that gave me of course to worry because I had an accountant who I had for a long, long time now and his wife died for a brain tumor in about four days before we can even get to pray with her. Then what the devil said was, “You have  got a brain tumor.” Then when I woke up the next morning, I found my bladder could not  release. That was tremendous pain. At the same time I got a sister in England who is battling bladder-colon-bowel cancer.

It wasn’t  very long before the devil came and said, “You thought you were alright but you see cancer is very quiet and you don’t feel anything until it’s too late.” I went to God to pray in great pain this time, great pain. I’ve not known pain like this and sometimes you have to get past the  pain to touch God. I remember saying to the Lord, and speaking to Him very bluntly, saying,

“Look, I preached this for 43 years I believe it Lord implicitly, what is going on?”

A still small voice of God spoke in my heart, “There’s only truth and lies, what would you believe?” And I said, “Lord, I believe the truth, the truth is Yours, I believe it, and I believe that by your wounds, I was healed, thank you so much.”

At that point, my bladder was able to release itself suddenly. That was wonderful, the pain, very much dissipated. For the next five days, every time I felt dizzy, I gave the devil the word, “It is written, by Your wounds, I was healed, by His wounds, I was healed.” Thank you Lord I was healed at Calvary. I’m not going to be healed , I’m not, might  be healed , I was healed , 2000 years ago, you paidthe price  to heal me.

Every time I felt dizzy and I felt dizzy for five days on and off. Sometimes I would go shopping and I feel like I’m about to fall over, I would catch hold of the counter for a few minutes. I would say to the enemy, “By Your wounds Jesus, I was healed.”

After 5 days, every symptom left, every part of my body went back to functioning normally and I really praise God that He is the Lord, Jehovah Rapha, He is the Lord, my Healer.

Now, a task for you guys, and ladies, think of an instance where you have been sick and you have found God through that sickness. Write it in the forum, share your stories and then we’ll continue in the third week, next week. We will discuss the other aspects of the name of God.

This is a very full subject this week, the Lord Healer. If He is your healer, then you can give Him to others. You can share the revelation with others. But really, if you’re going be involved in the arena of  healing, then you need to know that He is your Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals you.

I want to welcome you to month nine, and week one. And here we’d introduce something very, very different.

We have laid the foundation pretty much for you, I think. The scriptures are your foundation, your relationship with God is your foundation. Your understanding of covenant is your foundation, the understanding of all the gifts of the Spirit and what makes them operate and how they work are your foundation.

Now, we’re going on to something a little deeper, a little more interesting. The Bible says they who know their God, shall be strong and do exploits. Well, how do we know God?

How do we know our God? How can we find Him in the scriptures?

I believe that God is challenging the Church very much at moment to know Him and then to then know the power of His resurrection. And I don’t think we’ll know one without the other. First we have to get to know God. How can we get to know God? Well, He has given us certain Names,

He says, ” I am the Lord, Healer, I am the Lord, Your Righteousness, I am the Lord of Hope, I am the Lord a very present help in time of trouble, I am the Lord of peace, and I am the Lord of the too much.”

So, your task for this week in month nine is to find and search the scriptures, find out how many names of God there are recorded in the scriptures, and then see how you relate to those names. Do you, for instance, know that He is Jehovah Jireh, Lord who will provide? And then when you are in need, do you immediately panic, or do you immediately go to see the bank manager and get a line of credit, or a loan? Or do you really go to God and expect Him to honor, that which is His name.

This would just give you a little taste of where we’re going to go in month 9 and possibly in month 10 because it’s a very big subject. But I want you this week to get your Bibles out, get your concordances out, and really study and work now on what are the names of God and what do they mean in my life and to me, personally.

First I want to welcome you here today for the eighth month and fourth week and in this week we are concluding with the gifts of the Spirit.

If you’ve been following along you know that there are two powerful gifts that are still remaining to be understood and discussed. The first one is the gift of faith and the next one is the discerning of spirits with regard to the gift of faith.

I think I’ve only experienced it about two times in my entire life that I’m aware of. And I’d like to share with you that experience. I had a dream one evening that a lady was going to get out of the wheelchair and this took place in one thousand nine hundred seventy one. I’d been in the ministry less than two years and I’ve never seen anybody healed like this. I really didn’t have faith for it.

I talked to my wife and she said

“Well if God showed you then God means it. And this is what is going to happen.

And I said Well I’m very inexperienced and I’m not sure I can believe that, I was very relieved that afternoon to go to the church in the south of Sweden where I was speaking a small Messianic Jewish congregation really and I was aware that there was nobody there in a wheelchair in the meeting.

So I was rather relieved and I started to preach and then suddenly the back doors of the church opened and in came a lady in a wheelchair rode her wheelchair right to the front right under the place where I was speaking.

I suddenly went from faith to unbelief. I remember I was preaching about God is the God of opens the waters of the Mighty Red Sea. And I felt like the waters of the Red Sea were drowning me rather than the other way round rather than parting and I carried on preaching. But it was very difficult because suddenly I was aware of the lady that was in the wheelchair.

What happened. I started to pray for the sick by the Word of Knowledge. Now another way that I believe God releases faith to us is that if you hear God speak in the Word of Knowledge, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God but that is not quite the same. It’s similar but it’s not quite the same as having the gift of faith. So I was preaching and then I went into the world of knowledge as I say, I have and then I had words of knowledge for headaches, bad habits, bad hearts that bad stomachs, bad kidneys and that type of thing because I had various pains come to my body.

The next thing I had was like tension across my chest and I said I believe we have somebody here today who’s got tension across the chest and God wants to heal you. Well to my shock and dismay the lady in the wheelchair put her hand up and said It’s me and I had to go to her.

I was scared and was in unbelief. I really didn’t believe that she was going to be healed. It was too big for me at that stage in my ministry. At least this is what I thought and what happened. I went to her and I said what’s going to happen to you. And she said oh I’m going to stand up and go because I had a dream the other night that and God told me to come and I was going to be healed and even with that help can you believe it, I still had problems, I still thought with my left brain I’m not sure this is going to work. I’m not sure this can happen. I really haven’t got the faith for it because in those days I was limited in the revelation I had to be praying for the sick through faith.

And so I prayed and I said in the name of Jesus be healed I put my hand on her and I felt like the prayer went in the back of the wheelchair, it didn’t go anywhere near heaven and I didn’t sense the anointing of the Spirit I couldn’t feel anything.
And then to my shock the lady tries to stand up and walk. Well she had the faith not me and but she walked two or three steps and she was obviously still very crippled very much in pain and she sat down on a chair and I thought Oh good !! now we can carry on with the rest of the meeting and we can go home and forget this ever happened.

Well suddenly I felt like I was the Michelin Man! I was like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I had huge muscles, huge arms, huge body infused with faith and it was supernatural. I bent down and I said why are you in the wheelchair. Oh she said I’ve got this steel rod in my leg from the base of my foot up into my leg and I was told if I ever tried to walk it could cause an embolism and I could die and I said Oh my goodness you’ve just started to walk well I noticed that she had one ankle that was really swollen so I put my hand on it.

I started to pray and this time I had the gift of faith from God I mean I knew that I knew that I knew. And her ankle just went down and she ran around the church and everybody was wildly excited. There are probably only thirty, forty people or possibly fifty in the meeting and she was running around the church excited and I looked up and I had a healing line!

I had a man bent over on a crutch with cancer in the hip and I put my hand on his head not thinking about what I was doing, I just did it. And suddenly the power of God shot through me into him and his whole bend of the body straightened up!

Behind him it was a very large lady and she said I’m an opera singer and I’ve got this big goitre this side of my neck and I can’t sing anymore. And I said that’s fine. Don’t worry I will pray for you. The goitre will go and you will sing and then I thought where did that come from. But I was under this wonderful gift of faith I believe it comes when when God really wants to do something and he has to use someone and in that time and age he had to use me and so I prayed for her.

And she sang Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be Thy Name. And the anointing just fell on the church and it was a wonderful, wonderful evening but for the next ten days nobody got healed because I was thinking I was still under this gifting and I wasn’t.

And then after about three or four weeks I wondered if it had really happened or if I was imagining it.

God gave me a taste of the powers of the world to come. He gave me a little taste of what it must’ve been like for the generals the Smith Wigglesworth’s, the A.A Allen’s that William Branham’s that Jack Coe’s and the Katherine Kuhlman’s. What would it be like to live under that anointing where you areso anontedd to be in preaching and then after it lifts it seems almost unreal.

And so I wanted to bring you my understanding of the gift of faith will continue in the next video with discerning of spirits.

I want to welcome you back to month 8 week 3 and this week we are dealing with the subject of discerning of spirits.

It is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as listed in 1 Corinthians and it’s time that we learn something about it and how it works. I have had many many experiences of discerning of spirits and I want to share some of the experiences with you that so that you can begin to understand the threats and the depths of this particular subject.

I was very fortunate to be involved in the church that was in great revival in England in the 1960’s and 70’s. And we had revival for 8 years and 100 000 people came to our church all over the world. The pastor had a real powerful deliverance ministry. Several people in the church came out of the mental institutions were prayed for by him and were completely set free and became members of the church. He’s specialized in this and for some reason he took me under his wing and he wanted to train me.

So in the early days, of course ,you make a lot of errors so I shouted and screamed the demons to come out and ask the demon what its name was and it answered clearly. And I said “Why won’t you come out?” He said “I’m too afraid.” And at that point I realized that it’s not profitable to speak to the spirits but we can discern their presence. And once we can discern their presence we have the authority as believers in Jesus Christ to cast out the spirits. But sprits are really devious and they try and hide and they try to pretend that they don’t exist. I think if you realize how intelligent the devil is, he’s got half of the world at least believing that he does not exist. And that is very clever because now he can do his work completely unhindered.

One example that comes to mind, I was invited to a friend’s home in England and they had a painting on the wall. And during the dinner time they spoke to me and said, “you hear from God, don’t you?” And I said, “well, yes I do.” And they said “well tell me about this painting, because we’re not happy about it, there’s something about the painting that we don’t like.” So I sent a very quick prayer to the Lord and said, “Lord, what’s wrong with the painting?” And I was kind of shocked because I heard very clearly that it was a painted by a Chinese man and it was painted to the Chinese god of suicide and it’s a dangerous painting.

And I thought I hoped that the painting was not valuable. And because I have a very expressionable face if you like, they realized that I heard something, so they quizzed me and said, “now, what is it that you heard?” And I said, “well, this is probably wrong.” And I always start like this even though I am ninety percent sure it’s not wrong but I want to keep people an outlet so that if they believe that what I’m trying to say is wrong it allows them to do so. So I said, “Well this is what I heard it’s probably wrong but I heard it’s painted by a Chinese artist and he painted it to the Chinese god of suicide, does this mean anything to you?” Well to my shock they said, “yes, it means a great deal, it is painted by a very famous Chinese painter and I believe that he didn’t commit suicide but the previous owners of this painting had all committed suicide.” And that was one example of discerning of spirits.

To give you a completely different area there was an example that when I was in Florida some, quite a long time ago not speaking  in a church but attending a church service and I was listening to a man who was a tall American in  jeans,  a stetson on his head and talking in a very Texas  accent and saying, “I have been delivered from a spirit of anger.” And everybody clapped in the church and thought that was wonderful but the lord spoke to me quietly and He said, “he hasn’t because it’s not the spirit of anger it’s a Nazi spirit from Germany and I want you to go and tell him he hasn’t been set free.”

Well I argued with the Holy spirit I said, “it was not my meeting, it was not my place, he doesn’t know me, how do I talk to him.” But at the same time that I was arguing, I was already on my feet walking to the front of the church. I got in front of this man and I opened my mouth wondering how I was going to express this and I said very clearly, “were you in Berlin during the 2nd world war?” And he looked at me totally shocked he said, “How did you know I was in Berlin during the war?” I said, “I didn’t but the Lord spoke to me and told me.”

So I then noticed that he had a plaster cast on one leg and I got talking to the man and he told me that he was a part of the blue arrows American exhibition team and he had in fact crashed his plane and his parachute didn’t opened properly and he plummeted to the ground in a place in England and he was in a hospital and he was in the hospital for a very long time and he was nursed by Christians and he became Christian.

And he then said, “every part of my body healed except for this leg and I have to go to San Antonio ,Texas in a couple of days to have it amputated because it just refuses to be healed.

I looked at him and in my mind I saw a picture of the German Goose step. So I said, “Can I come and see you or would you like to come and see me because I can pray and I think we can prevent your leg from being amputated.”

He was very open to this, he came around to the house I was staying in and I prayed not his leg to be healed but to the Nazi spirit to leave him. There was a clicking noise and he thanked me and he said he felt a lot more of peace but at the same time he went to San Antonio to have his leg amputated and when they took the plaster off, they discovered that it was perfectly healed.

I believe that was a presence of the Nazi spirit that was in the body, it wasn’t in the soul, and it was in the body. And I think from discerning of spirits they can be in one, they can be in 2 places but not 3. I really believe for a Christian that it’s not possible to be possessed by a demon. But a demon can harass, influence, energize the body and the soul and from these 2 perspectives I will be continuing this talk in discerning of spirits.

I want to welcome you to the eighth month of this course in week three and this is the second video in the subject of discerning of spirits.

I spoke earlier of specific instances which I’ve had with regard to this gift and how the various ways this gift can come to us or this or the Holy Spirit can communicate to us. In this video I want to contrast healing and gifts of healing and discerning of spirits that result in healing.

I was in Canada some time ago and I was asked to pray for a child, so the very, very small child, a baby actually and it was just a few months old and the parents were Christians but they were very concerned because five toes had not grown on the child’s feet and they wanted prayer so I went round to talk to them.

I prayed over the little child. I could picture the toes growing in my mind and I felt I had faith for this. I prayed but nothing happened, so a bit later on I was talking to the parents and they happened to to talk about their holiday vacation and everything like this and they’d been into temples and they’d been into places of religious worship with regard to other gods. I asked them if they would be happy to repent of this and then we could pray for the child again because, I explained to them that satan doesn’t really need to have influence in every member of the family just one is sufficient to cause great disruption to the family and whilst they had taken off their shoes to go into these various temples and places that they travelled, to they didn’t realize it was an act of worship for the worshippers in the place it was just a sign of respect to them.

But however they had gone into these places worshipping other gods and the Old Testament says very clearly you should have no other gods before me and they quickly repented. I prayed again for the child and I’m really thrilled to be able to tell you that five little toes grew on this little baby’s foot in front of our eyes. The blockage was removed and the toes grew.

A long time ago now when my wife was carrying our son she fell down the stairs from the top to the bottom and I heard this noise and she seemed to bounce on every stair as she came down and I heard hallelujah thank you Jesus! Praise the Lord and she hit the bottom and she got up all right and the baby was fine there was no miscarriage, there was no damage done to the baby or to her.

Most people who fall down stairs or to trip up outside on the pavement or have a car accident do not shout Praise the Lord, hallelujah thank you Jesus. They are more normal. No they probably react in fear they scream out they cry and they don’t realize that is opening themselves up to being attacked by an evil spirit a spirit of infirmity as I call it. I pray for a lot of people that have been in car wrecks and if they don’t get healed the first time I pray I always say if you don’t mind I’d like to pray again not because I didn’t pray properly the first time but now I know even if I haven’t already discerned it. Now I know there’s a blockage to the body being healed. So I pray again I command The spirit of infirmity to leave, I bind its power. I command it to leave and then I asked the Holy Spirit to come and bring the healing. Every time this seems to work.

It’s in the scriptures it talks about epilepsy and sometimes epilepsy can be caused through enormous a fever and sometimes it’s caused through a trauma through an accident and I learned through this that trauma and accidents and and stressful times and very deep rejected times can result in a demon attaching itself to our souls or our bodies.

I have prayed for a lot of people that have had an orphan spirit. It feels like they don’t know that God loves them. They haven’t experienced the emotion or presence of God even though they’re believers. They actually believe the Bible, they believe Jesus died for them but they don’t have any feelings. And you can normally trace it back to an absent father or an absent group or parent and they have never been fathered and our spirit is supposed to cry out Abba Father, Daddy God, Daddy Father. And that’s an intimate term. And some people haven’t been able to reach that degree of intimacy. I prayed for them. I commanded the orphan spirit to leave. It felt like a Taproot was being pulled right out of them and suddenly they knew that God loved them. They could feel the emotion of it and the presence of the Holy Spirit came to them very often for the first time. I hope you learned something through this particular month on discerning of spirits.

I want to welcome you to the 2nd week of month 8 and this week we are going to discuss together the word of knowledge, the phenomena of the word of knowledge, the spiritual gift called the word of knowledge.

I was part of the church where they flowed in this particular manifestation. People would say week by week, God told me this, do we have somebody with this illness and so on. But I was not in the place where I could hear God’s voice. So I went to an evangelist in the church and I spoke to him and he said, “How often do you speak in tongues?” I said, “just 5 minutes or so everyday, something like that.” He said, “well, try an hour.”

Because I had one and a half hours driving to the office and back again in the evening and I was alone I spoke in tongues for that range of time. That was where I develop my spirit, that today enables me to hear from God.

About a year or eighteen months later, somebody in the church had some tapes by a William Branham. I played this particular tape and it was a wonderful healing service. He had a lady before him to whom he said “you don’t know anything about me do you” and she said, “No sir, I don’t “and he said, “What Im going to tell you, in the same way that Jesus told the woman of the well. When Jesus spoke to the woman at the well, He revealed her whole life and because of that, when the Apostles went to Samaria after the resurrection, revival broke out.

I cannot prove it, but I believe that encounter with that woman laid the seeds for revival. When she went home she told all her friends – ” I met a man who told me everything about myself” so Branham had this lady come up on a platform and he said to her I see you have a nervous condition. I see you broke two cups and saucers yesterday and you’ve also got foot problems you have something wrong with your heel and she said “Yes Sir that is all correct!” William Branham replied “Well, you also something else but so you just really believe God for your healing , your name is Mrs. Anne Jones and you live in 1736 Richmond Street, Vermont USA is that true? In front of thousands of people, William Branham handed her the microphone she said” Yes Sir, that is true. !!! Because the lady believed she was healed, Branham did not actually pray for her. He lifted her faith to a point that she received from God for herself. This had profound effect on me.

I was driving along a lot later on and I was speaking in tongues in my car singing in my spirit, the presence of the Lord really came very strongly into the car. As I am talking to the Lord saying “Lord you told Branham, names and addresses, give me a name and address.

I was in fact en route to a preaching engagement in a Baptist church in England as I was driving along I hear as if it was the audible voice of God it was so clear from the back seat of the car ” You will meet a Mrs. Alexander and she lives a specific address. I thought, oh my goodness thats a such a detail. i wonder if its God! because it took me by surprise !

So I was driving along and when I reached the church the Pastor was talking to me and saying “Do you have a message prepared for us?” and I replied “Yes, its on healing and he looked at me and he said ” Oh no, we do not believe in that for today. if that is what you have prepared you will not be preaching in this church.” I am sorry that you have had a journey but you are not preaching in my church, I was a bit taken aback by this because, I had driven approximately 150 miles plus and I said to him “Just before I leave to return home again may I ask a question “Do you have a Mrs. Alexander in your church?” and he said ” yes I do. In fact I have two ladies by that name, which one are you thinking of ?” and I said “I am thinking of the lady that lives in Wood Street is that correct?” The Pastor replied, “Oh yes, that is correct. Unfortunately she has cancer, do you know her ? No I do not know her exactly, and at that point he cut the conversation off and i drove home. I do not know whatever happened to the lady, whether she was healed because God spoke to me or whether the healing was prevented by the Pastor not allowing me to preach in his church.

I did not feel confident to ask him if I could go and see her and he would come with me so I do not know what the outcome was, but suddenly I realized i am getting detailed words of knowledge and it thrilled me but it also scared me because the words were so potentially powerful.

I want to encourage you to reach out in this gift of The Word of Knowledge that we are discussing at the moment and it is very personal ,very powerful and it increases faith in peoples heart so that they can be healed.

I am continuing with the 2nd video for month 8 and week 2, talking about the world of knowledge.

Word of knowledge comes to us in one of about five or six different ways.

1.You can hear a voice that speaks in your head or in your heart and it gives you information.

2. You can have a feeling in your body, Jesus is touched with the feelings of people’s infirmities and quite often I’m preaching and I’m asking God please speak to me because who do you want to be healed first. And because of that I suddenly have a pain in my shoulder or another pain in the elbow or another pain in my stomach or in the heart area. And I believe that because Jesus is touched with the feeling of our infirmities then that pain is not mine but it belongs to somebody in the congregation. So then what I do is I take a step of faith and say there’s somebody here who has got some pain in the elbow, pain in the 8 part of their body and it’s never been wrong in 43 years. Every word of knowledge I’ve had has been accurate. And so when I try this I still try it but I’ve never found it to be wrong so that in worship if you get a pain it’s not the devil to be rebut but it’s the Lord showing us that somebody close to us has this problem and he wants to heal him. This is one real way that people can be healed.

3. There is a third way if you like, you know that you know that you know, but you have no idea how you know. It’s like you shake hands with somebody or you talk to them and God intervenes, comes into the center of it and drops a thought into your mind. The scriptures behind this, if you like, are John chapter 5 and the 19th verse. It says Jesus of His own self could do nothing, but as He saw his Father do, or he heard His Father speak then He could do everything.

During the last 43 years I built a healing ministry on primarily, on the word of knowledge. I don’t know why but I had lots of insecurity when I came to the Lord, I had lots of problems. I really felt self conscious because of my stammer and I felt inadequate and because I have not been theologically trained before God called me into the ministry, I felt like I was the small boy in the block if you like and because of this I did not want to do anything unless I heard from God or I saw from God

God capitalized on this, because in the Bible it says when you are weak then say you are strong.! Paul said “I stand among you in fear and trembling yet in demonstration of the power of God.” So I qualified, I was in fear and trembling, totally dependent on the Lord to say that if any person going to get healed in this meeting it is going to take the word of knowledge because then I know faith comes by hearing, faith comes by seeing from the Spirit and if God gives me a word of knowledge I know I had the faith to be able to pray for it.

So I would start and I would have back pains and leg pains and heart pains and so on and so forth. Now these were seemingly minor words of knowledge but the point is this, behind the fact that God said you’ve got back pain you might well have disintegrating vertebrate in your spine, so it’s not minor, it’s very powerful. You might have, what I have is pain in my stomach and it could well be a cancerous tumor. If God has said to us as very young Christians, I am going to heal cancer, I would have had more respect for the sickness than I had for the relationship with God at that time, and the person would not have been healed.

So God gives just very general words of knowledge and from this, it built a pattern that I could say somebody has got a leg problem and we will get a broken legs, we would get metal in the legs, we would get cartilage that is being torn out replaced. So just because you get a general word of knowledge it doesn’t mean that God is going to give a general healing, so bear that in mind.

Sometime ago I was speaking in conference and the night came where Randy Clark was speaking. He went to the podium, he went to his pocket and pulled out a little card and he said ” While I was praying, God gave me four words of knowledge. One of them is one lady here has a leg condition, you have a cartilage problem. Well, I think there were about 16-1700 people in the meeting and you could almost feel the unbelief going around the meeting that, well of course there were people with leg problem in the meeting. But there was one lady in the overflow room and she came running in, running down in the aisle, jumped onto the platform, and started break dancing on the platform and Randy stood just looking at her and the anointing was all over her and she was healed of a bad leg.

So Randy said to me why don’t we get her to pray for the sick and I would just stand and support her. Well, she was part of the Teen Challenge, drug center and some of them had come to the meeting. During her prayers for the sick she was perspiring and sweating profusely and I kept getting Kleenex tissues and I wiped her hands that were wet and wiped her forehead that was very wet and she must have prayed for a hundred people. To my knowledge everyone that she prayed for was healed. Later we realized that she was being detoxified as she was praying for others and all the effects of the drugs where pouring out of her pores and she was being set free as she prayed.

This all began with a simple Word of Knowledge but think how profound it was when approximately one hundred people received their healing through her prayers and herself being delivered from whatever drug habit that she had.

It started small but it was a little stone that was thrown in to the water. Now sometimes God does it small sometimes he does it very very large and very detailed I will go into that in the third video for this week.

I want to welcome you to this month, the 8th month of the course, week 1 and we’re going to change the format this time because when I looked through the scriptures there are not a lot of teachings on how the gifts of the Holy Spirit work.

You’ll expect if you felt the Spirit, you will be manifesting a lot of these gifts that He talks about in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14.

Our brain is very developed in the sense that it’s very logical and He devised these spiritual gifts into 3 categories of 3 gifts each. This particular week I am going to be dealing with as much as I can the word of wisdom. I will be frank with you; I don’t have a load of experience that I’ve recognized that I have flowed in this particular gift. However one of the scriptures that we can have a look at is where Jesus spoke to the disciples he said, “ take no thought, what you shall say, when you are brought before Kings and rulers in my name, because it will be given to you in that same hour.” Now the word of wisdom is a word that comes through you, and then is expressed through you, that is supernatural. It is beyond your natural capability of thinking. Perhaps a very good example I can draw from that will illustrate this point is, I think it was in the 1970s or 80s there was a man going through communist countries, Russia, and the like countries in the eastern block and he was smuggling Bibles. He was called Brother Andrew and he came from Holland. He and his friend called Brother Rolfe were captured one day I think in Czechoslovakia or one of the Soviet countries and it didn’t take the guards for long to realize that they probably this was the man who was called God’s smuggler.

So they interrogated them in 2 separate parts of the same prison and both of the man came up with an answer, they were asked who are you, are you God’s smuggler and they said, “no we are not we are merely,” and here is the word of wisdom, “teachers of Middle Eastern History.” Now when you think about that, they were smuggling Bibles which is full of Middle Eastern History, they are going from church to church as evangelist and pastors, teaching on Middle Eastern History.

Because these two men, in separate parts of the prison and interrogated separately and they came with the same answer the guards realized that their stories agreed and therefore they let them go thinking, maybe we had the wrong people they are just teachers of Middle Eastern history, who happen to be visiting the Soviet bloc, sight seeing or as tourists. We know that that was not the truth, but that was one example of a word of wisdom.

Many, many years ago before I was in the ministry, way back in the 60s, I was the chief accountant of a group of companies. One of the shop stewards of the trade union that was involved with the manufacturing company came to me one day and he was very angry and he was shouting and threatening. He was threatening to bring about a strike, bring everybody out on a strike and cause the downfall of the company if we didn’t listen to his demands.

The demands were completely outrageous, completely unfair demands. He was trying it on, as we say. So I asked the Lord, I prayed in tongues under my breath and said, “Lord what do I tell him?” And the Lord said to me, “say to him according to your word, according to my word you will not strike.” So I looked him straight in the eye from where I was sitting and I said to him, “Well according to my word you will not strike.” I don’t know what he felt when he heard the word but his eyes lowered, his head lowered and he walked quietly out of my office and closed the door behind him.

The bottom-line is, there was no strike while I was there. I believe that’s an example of the word of wisdom. It would be interesting in the Forum if some of you that have had experiences relating to the word of wisdom could include that in your testimonies and we can all share and all learn and all grow from your stories as well as mine.

I will be back in week 2 and I will be talking much greater length on the word of knowledge because that is something that I do know something about.

I want to welcome you back to month 7 and this is week 4.

This is where we summarize all the things that we want to take away from this month, where we discuss interpretations of tongues and we discuss prophecy. The main thing I want you to take away with regard to prophecy is that you can be wrong. That’s the very good safety belt, you can be wrong. We prophesy in part, we know in part, according to 1 Corinthians , 13, verse 9.. As long as you accept that you could be wrong, then you’ll be very happy to be able to keep them in the boundaries of exhortation, edification and comfort.

God is a good God, He is good all the time and He loves his people. He’s not angry with His people, He loves His people. That’s why Jesus died so that He could express that love towards us. God so love the world and He loves the world and He loves us. So remember that when your prophesying.

I remember being in the service in the United Kingdom, a long time ago, and there was a man who tried to prophesy from the balcony in the service. And it is the sort of thing where every time he felt that courage to prophesy, there was a crescendo of praise and he got really drowned out. So I think he tried about three times and eventually he came to the front and he got the microphone and he started to prophesy and he said something like “I am the Alpha and the Romeo” and, of course, he meant to say “I am the Alpha and the Omega”, but he was so frustrated that he just came over incorrectly. And of course everybody laughed then and thought it was very funny and he didn’t see the funny side of it,!

2 to 3 weeks and then he realized that he’s spirit had been judged, his spirit was no t at peace and the prophetic spirit requires a spirit that is at peace. So this is something very important that I want you to take away.

With regards to the interpretation as I said it is not the translation you might be able to speak the language, you might know the language but because it’s an interpretation not a translation, the meaning of the message will come through but not necessarily a verbatim, word by word translation service.

So bear that in mind and once you start to flow in these gifts or manifestations, particularly prophecies, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues you will find it’s much easier to flow into the more powerful gifts if you like, more popular gifts of the holy spirit, like the word of knowledge word of wisdom, gift of faith, healings and miracles and discerning of spirits.
We will start to look at those things in month 8.

It is now month 7 and it is week 3 and here is the challenge this month.

I’m hoping that some of you have been sharing the course with your spouse or your children, or if not then please feel free to do so, that was stated at the very beginning of the course. I just want to equip as many people as possible to flow in the Holy Spirit and heal the sick.

Find a group of people this week. You can let them know what you’re about to do and ask them permission, or you if you come from a very friendly church, where it’s permitted you can give a message in tongues or you could interpret or you can prophesy. But what I want you to do is to practice this week but not as a one off but just for a week and then we move on to another subject.

I’m hoping that a lot of the disciplines that you’re learning on the practical side you keep in the diary somewhere or you keep in a notebook and you keep going back to these and so that you learn how to see that people are in faith. You look at their eyes and see the light go on for instance. You understand how these things operate and you fulfill the challenges, because it’s not intended to be just a theoretical course that you learn as you know but to really equip you to move and flow in a whole realm of the Holy Spirit.

It’s an accelerating realm and you will have great fun doing it. So find someone and as my friend Bill Johnson says “God is a good God, He’s good all the time”. He wants to speak to his people. So beginning with prophecy by saying nice things over somebody and you’ll find that you go into a flow and then you can bring forth the treasures old and new.

Very often in prophecy, practically speaking, this is what God does, He tells them that their love is special that He has got a future and a hope for them and then He goes back and He tells them something that they know is true and that, if you like, is the hook that enables God to speak into the future and their life and they have the faith then.

They have the belief system in place to believe it, because if you believe the prophets the Bible says you will prosper. If you believe the words of prophecy that you receive you don’t act on them to make them come to pass but in your heart you believe it you praise God for it, you thank God for it and then, God can bring it to pass.

So it’s very important to find an expression in this week, where you can get somebody in your family to speak in an unknown tongue, to give a message and deliberately just by faith in an unknown tongue. And then you can pray and ask God can I interpret it then when you done that reverse it so that somebody else gives the message and tongues and interpret.

And what I want you to do is try and get at home in the realm of this gifts so that if somebody comes to you and they’re sick then you don’t prophesy over them but rather pray for them for healing. If they come and they need some directions some comfort in their life, you can reach out to God and god can speak through you to them, so that you become a useful citizen of the Kingdom and an experienced warrior so that you can learn how to flow in these gifts.

So this week here’s the challenge find somebody, pray with them prophesy over them, give a message in tongues and let them interpret or perhaps if they’re not ready, let them give a message to tongues and you interpret. Take a note of what the messages are and if you have the time put the notes in the Forum for this particular month so that we can see what God has been saying through you.

What type of prophecies are coming through and whether it’s a blessing and I am sure that it will be. So I look forward very much to reading the comments that are coming in the forum and the third week of month 7. God Bless you.

I want to welcome you to month 7 and week 2. This is where I start to share the experiences that I’ve had with regards to interpretation of tongues and also prophecy. I think I mentioned last week that with regard to prophecy, for instance I discovered that if I desired it then I got it, if I didn’t desire then all these things will go and I wouldn’t prophesy or I could be in a house group or somewhere and I wouldn’t have a prophecy.

But if in prayer before the meeting, I would pray and say, “Lord I would really love to prophecy today,” I found that without fail I would receive a prophesy. This was extremely scary to me at first because I’m going back now, 43 years when all past 44 years before God called me full time into the ministry I was in the church where we believed in body ministry. So that the apostle says I’m not going to be in charge of the meeting I’m not going to leave the meeting as such. The bible says when we come together everyone has the aim, the psalm, the doctrine the prophecy and interpretation. If you prophesy let it be 2-3 at the most and let the others interpret. So therefore he told and I personally believe it’s the truth that the gifts of the spirit flows through the body as He the Holy Spirit wills, but they’re subject to the desire from us. So I would pray before the service, I would be in the bathroom cleaning my teeth for something and I would just send a quick prayer to God and say, “God I would really love to prophesy this morning but I’m really scared,” and the reason I was scared was because I couldn’t speak 2 words without stammering and I am wondering how long it’s going to take me to say in the name of, best say it the Lord because 45 years ago that was how prophecy always came it had to be acceptable in the King James Version. Today that’s all changed and changed for the better but I would really desire to be used by God even though I had a terrible fear that I might stammer, that people wouldn’t understand that I would start to prophesy and people will not listen, I have all these fears surrounding it but superimpose on these fears and doubts I had a desire and that is what God capitalizes on that’s what God works with, a desire. So I would pray before church start or anything in the bathroom saying, “Lord I desire to prophesy.” I go to the church and the service would start and the praise would start from there we are going to worship and then somebody would give a word and then it would start and the way it started was I had a thought come into my mind. It just came 2-3 times and it was fairly loud, fairly loud decibel level. It was like, I love you my people, I love you my people or I am your God, I am your God and I would wonder was this God, was this me, was this the devil and because I had so many fears I would sit on my seat and I not do anything. So then it seems to go that God was saying, “I know you’re really desired to do this so I’m going to make it to the point where you have to do it.” And my heart would stop to pound and in that way I would know, well this is more than just me, somehow God is communicating through this pounding heart. But I still didn’t want to do it because of this speech impediment fact that I was possibly stammered dadadada and I wouldn’t be able to get out the start of the prophecy. What would people think and I felt embarrassed and self conscious and but God continued to put the pressure on me. And the reason God puts pressure on me is because he can take a lump of coal. he can take a black object and under pressure it becomes a diamond, it becomes a precious jewel. And so God does imply pressure upon us, with regard to these gifts of the spirit. And the pressure was my heart pounded and then my palm of my hand began to sweat it was just sweat it was not oil or anything coming out it was just sheer nerves. Well, I still didn’t want to do it so finally it seem like God had an Angel lie down between my legs, under my seat and it was as if the angel had a hammer and a big nail and he said you will do this and hit me and suddenly it was just as though I had a big nail sticking into me and I left out of my seat and prophesy. Now, because we had a Pentecostal background we hadn’t learned that it was possible to breathe prophecy that you could phrase it, you could pose. you could do it, it came out like a machine gun. And there was an advantage to this because in the machine gun prophecy, it’s like your mind can’t catch up so then you get what God wants to say and suddenly it stops because you haven’t had your mind involved and you haven’t been able grab a hold of the understanding of the words that come out. Yes you’re still being in charge because you’ve allowed the Holy Spirit to flow like that like a river through you and the prophecy ends. One of the problems a lot of people have today is because they are more mature, they understand it more, they can continue after the Lord is finished and then the anointing drops off. How can you tell if the prophecy is of God? Well you remember that Jesus took a bowl and he wanted to wash the disciple’s feet and Peter said, “Wash all of me not just my feet, wash all of me.” And Jesus said, “You have no need of that just the feet that’s all that you need. Well in a similar way prophecy has a backwash to it. Iif you give out a word and it’s got the anointing to it, it comes back and it hits you, it washes you, it’s the washing of the water of the word that comes to you so that you know in your inner most being that that prophecy was not you speaking presumptuously but it was really God giving that word.

I want to welcome you to month 7 and week 2 and this is the 2nd video that I’m doing in regard to the gift or the manifestation of the spirit in prophecy. It’s very important when you come to prophesy to have the right motivation. The Bible says that you speak forth to edify, to exhort and to comfort, those are the boundaries. The reason for the boundaries are that in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, verse 9 it says, “for we know in part and we prophesy in part.”

What does that mean? Well I believe it means, that if you’re in the right spirit, if you’re not trying to connect, or you’re not in pride, then there’s a very good chance that the content of your prophecy that you receive from God will be quite high in the Godly aspect of the contentt. But because it comes true human vessel it will be a percentage.

Now if it’s a really good prophecy it can 80% God and 20% you, that’s where the part comes in, that’s where the possibility of error creeps in. Therefore if this is true if it is equally possible but you can prophesy by faith, and you can be angry with the Pastor or angry with leaders, or not like the person and it’s still valid prophecy because it’s all received by faith.

But the point is its more likely 20% God and 80% you, which is not very edifying for anyone. So before you start to prophesy check yourself and think now, am I in right standing with the church or with the brother because do I want to bless, do I want to exhort to comfort and to edify. If I keep it within those 3 boundaries it’s going to be pretty clear that its harmless, I’m not invoking dates, I’m not invoking events, I’m not bringing directions, I’m just bringing exhortation, I’m building up and I’m comforting. So should that be 80% God 20% me it’s pretty good content from God and it will be a blessing when you prophecy; you speak to edify and to bless.

Now this is different from being a prophet. The bible says we may all prophesy I would suggest that it is impossible to become a prophet unless you prophesy. So everybody starts on the same level but some people develop it and grow in it to a much greater level. And they have a higher degree of accuracy. It’s really good that we’re under the grace covenant because if the prophets got it wrong in the Old Testament they were stoned to death and they didn’t have a chance to repent or to try again. Today under the covenant of Grace, God extends grace to us and He wants us to become partners with Him in the Kingdom of God.

He wants to speak and He wants to speak through us and one of the ways He does this is in the [Inaudible 3:55]. So how does God attend to this, that we might have a revelation that what I’m doing is something wonderful but it is also something serious. In my experience that if I really fear God and I know I have a prophecy. I have kind of doubt or a fear that I need to step over this doubt with this fear to give the word and the reason I’m prepared to step over the fear and past the doubt is that I want to bless the church, I want to bless the individual, I want to be a blessing. And if you step over the fear and over the doubt and over the insecurities because you want to bless and you will find that God will honor you and He will give you good contents and you will be a blessing.

Don’t forget that everyone starts at kindergarten’s stage. God divides the church in 1 John, Chapter 2 into 3 groups. He divides it into small babies, young men or teenagers and fathers and because of that you are perfect as a small baby, you’re perfect as a teenager, you’re perfect as a father that is how God sees us in one of those 3 categories.

In the example of small babies they just open their mouth and cry and the parents think they are wonderful. So even though your first beginning, it’s your first time prophesying, don’t be afraid, just hear from heaven and repeat what God tells you. He will give you just a phrase, I don’t believe He will give you the whole thing, He will give you a phrase and there’s a wonderful word in the English language and it’s called “and” and at the end of the phrase say “and” and wait a few seconds and you will find the second phrase is there and then you can say “and again” and the third phrase is there and very quickly you learn how prophecy works and how to prophesy.

If you continue with this, God will deepen you, He will give you more content and you will become more significant in regard to being used in that way and in that gift. In the same way the more you study the word of God, the more you pour in the scriptures and study in the scriptures, the more you give the Holy Spirit availability to pull on the knowledge, to pull on what you’ve read and be able to speak to the church and bring edification and comfort and meaning.

It’s very interesting that the Bible says the speaking in tongues, going back to that for a minute, is for the unbeliever and as I think I’ve already shared, in our church back in England in the old days we would have children, who would give fluent messages in tongues in either Swedish or French and we had Swedish and French people in the meetings of the time and they heard the gospel in their own language.

With regard to prophesying it’s interesting that it says, “it’s not to the unbeliever it’s to the beliver.” What does this mean? Prophecy has to be received, and because prophecy has to be received its only received by people that believe it, and because people believe it, they are vulnerable in their senses and I think now you can see why it comes back to the original statement that we prophesy in part and we know in part.

Therefore we need to keep it within these three boundaries edify, to exhort and to comfort. If we do that we can learn how to prophesy and we can learn at the same time how to hear God’s voice. Once we’ve done this we can move on to the other spiritual gifts but it’s important that we speak in tongues we interpret tongues which we will deal with next and that we prophesy.

I want to welcome you back to month 7 this is week 2

This is the 3rd and the last video in week 2.

I want to talk about interpretation of tongues. The Bible says many things about this, it says first of all an interpretation is not a translation. I was in a bible school in Sweden probably in the late 70’s I was doing some teaching there on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. One of the ladies in the Bible school  gave a message in tongues and it was followed by one of the ladies interpreting and basically said this is what she said as far as I can remember.

“Even as a mother hen gathers her chicks and protects them under her under her wings, so God wants to look after us.”
That was followed by kind of a loud explosion from a man who was also attending the Bible school and he said ” I’m not sure that’s right, because I got this picture and I can see it and here is what God is showing me. He had a picture of the Lord surrounding Jerusalem and protecting it and keeping it safe” and he was convinced that he had the real interpretation.

Well as you can tell both interpretations caught the same meaning the protection of the Lord is around and coming from the lady it was as a mother hen gathers her chicks and as a man it was a more manly picture, it was a more acceptable picture to him of God camping around Jerusalem and protecting his people, Israel. So therefore it’s an interpretation it is not a translation.

Now sometimes you can speak in tongues and you are worshipping and you are enjoying the presence of God and you have a thought come to you I wonder what it is I am saying. Then if you reach out a little bit more you will find out that God will give you the interpretation of what you are saying and it comes through faith and you believe what you hear and you don’t get self conscious.

Keep yourself in that God conscious framework and that enables God to speak back to you’re the mysteries that you’ve spoken to him from your spirit not from your mind but from your spirit to Him and that is why this is so powerful.

It is something that is being neglected that hopefully will come back to the church because it will help to grow people in the realm of the spirit, it will give them a broader understanding of how God works and that is what I want to leave with you in the second week of month 7.

I want to welcome you to month 7 and week 1 and during this month we will be discussing and explaining about two more of the manifestations or gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gift of interpreting tongues and the gift of prophecy well the manifestation of those two things.

The scriptures again for month7 and week 1 are basically 1 Corinthians Chapter 12, Chapter 13 and Chapter 14. I want you to see that if you desire spiritual gifts then you seem to be able to receive it. If you don’t desire then you don’t manifest or you’re not used by God in those gifts. So obviously even though God has given these manifestations of the Holy Spirit, he still requires cooperation from us.

In 1 Corinthians 12 and 13 and 14 you will begin to see how all these fits together. I want you to pay particular attention to 1 Corinthians 13 with regards to prophecy because in Chapter 13 in the 9th verse it says, ‘”for we now impart and we prophesy in parts.” In 1 Corinthians 14, it speaks about prophesying to edify, to exhort and to comfort, so there were boundaries on them.

Think about those things, put in the Forum if you will, your experience of interpreting tongues. Did you for instance interpret as though it was praise back to God from man or did you interpret as so it was heavenly information from God, a heavenly message from God that we required interpretation for the congregation?

Personally I believe both could be correct but it would be very good if you could write your stories in the Forum so that we can have a broad perspective of how experienced people that are on the course really are. In the same way the gift or manifestation of prophecy, it would be good to share at least 1 or 2 significant times where God has spoken to you in prophecy and if you can analyze it and think why did God do that?

What was my state of mind in being when God released the prophecy to me? That would be most helpful. In month 7 and week 2, I will be going over and sharing all the experiences that I’ve had with regard to interpreting in tongues and also prophecy. I am sure that this will be helpful to all of you. I look forward to being back with you and sharing like paths.
